The ONF clarifies the rules for commercial activities (paid climbing activities) and gatherings in the forest

The ONF has revised its ‘policy on authorising events or filming in state-owned forests in eastern Île-de-France’!

Oops, I may have lost you there.

To summarise, the climbing sites in Bleau belong to someone (70% on ‘private land open to the public’), the Office Nationale Forêt (ONF). The latter applies a national policy based on four main areas: producing and selling wood, managing hunting, protecting the environment and welcoming the public. For Fontainebleau, where there are more walkers, sports enthusiasts and tourists, this can be discussed with the ‘official associations’ within an ‘exceptional forest’ committee. The CLAC (organiser of Oh My Bloc) and Respect Bleau are informed and consulted when it comes to climbing, as is COSIROC.

The ONF has recently finalised the rules of the game, and we would like to relay, communicate and disseminate them, but it is not the purpose of this post to discuss their validity. However, if you would like to get involved, we would be delighted, as there is a lot to do. So please join us.

The new rules are available on the ONF website at this link.
